Business Analysts vs AI: Who is Doing the Thinking?

Should business analysts be worried about being replaced by AI?

Or can you sit back and let ChatGPT do your job while you watch some funny videos?

What do smart BAs do to utilize AI tools for productivity while retaining their relevance?

How to continue to be relevant as a BA – do you have to compete with chatbots, and how?

If you are a business analyst, you still have to do the thinking.

You must take responsibility for thinking critically (including evaluating the AI model outputs when you ask it to draft user stories for you).

You are still responsible for a shared understanding of requirements.
For human connection.
For ethical use of technology.
For preventing bias.
For helping business stakeholders with the adoption of software solutions.
… and a few other things.

Don’t worry about being replaced by AI. Think about how you must change to stay relevant.
